This image is the second version of a posterI did a couple years ago for the Savannah Morning News Players of the Year series. I reopened the original file one day recently and began working with some new custom brushes and masking techniques I had learned to create the newest iteration shown here.
The new style really brings out the disintegrating effect and contains a certain level of depth and realism the original poster lacked. One other thing I did to create a better illusion of depth was to bring some of the fragments into the foreground and give them a slight blur, which also enhances the feel of motion.
The piece also was submitted as a project in my Advanced Photoshop class at Sessions College. Instructor Matt Kloskowski gave high marks and praise, and suggested it be used in any portfolio I put together.
Client: Personal project, class project for Sessions College
